Attempting to program a spare key for a 2020 Land Rover Range Rover with a K8D2 system using the Lonsdor K518 Pro. The tool is prompting me for a 32-digit secret key (SK). Then try Xhorse vvdi key tool plus it also asks for a 32-digit code.
Where can I obtain this key?
Here is the clue.
For certain models that require a 32-bit secret key, OBD key duplication isn’t supported. You may need to replace the CPU chip or RFA module first.
KVM is locked you need a new one or an MCU replacement and reprogrammed. You need to replace the chip in the KVM with an unlocked one and then upload the virgin software. This is an advanced procedure requiring some desoldering and resoldering.
No matter Frequency or remote type, simply it’s a spc560 locked MCU. Without proper tools, you need to replaced with a virgin one and programming keys. Risky job.
The JPLA version works well, but the K8D2 system seems tricky—Lonsdor and Autel reportedly have a 70% success rate with it. It might be better to use AVDI or LOCK50 JLR key tool instead. Lock50 will work 100%.If alarm is ON, you must turn off the alarm by CAN BUS. If alarm is OFF then you need to virginize KVM and program keys.
FYI: JLR Pluto will not unlock RFA as its OTP Chip, and not BCM if had JLR Security update & No working Key. It will not unlock Alarm Active BCM which has had JLR Security update. You can add key if alarm deactivated and KVM not locked.
